The socio-economic issues within South Africa are often too overwhelming to bare. They are so deep-rooted, so entrenched within our society. So much a part of our everyday experience that we can often turn a blind eye to the daily struggles of our neighbour. 
Every time you drive into Cape Town and see the sprawling informal settlement of Khayelitsha that stretches on for an eternity. As far as the eye can see, we’re faced with an overwhelming sense of defeat for our country and its people. 

How do we fix this? 
Where do even begin to start?

There’s always hope. That’s what makes us human. We HOPE. Surfers not Street Children is an organisation that is bringing Hope to a seemingly hopeless situation, and we honour them for that.
